About Us
At the heart of ABCs for Haiti is a deep commitment to faith, service, and the people of Haiti. Founded by Joe and Martha Walker, a retired physician and school administrator from East Tennessee, this mission began as a personal calling—to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to bring hope where it’s needed most.
Through prayer and a strong sense of purpose, Joe and Martha found themselves drawn to the vibrant but struggling communities of Haiti. What started as a desire to serve turned into a growing movement focused on education, empowerment, and compassion. From supporting local schools to creating opportunities for children and educators, ABCs for Haiti is rooted in the belief that real love is shown through action.
Guided by the words of 1 John 3:16-18, we believe in living out our faith by serving our brothers and sisters—especially those facing hardship. Every project, every donation, and every act of kindness is driven by the simple yet powerful mission of making the world a better place for Haiti.
Join us in this journey. Whether through prayer, volunteering, or donations, your support helps bring light, learning, and love to those who need it most.
